What Earth Day means to Immagin

Immagin brought this home today in Her homework folder. I thought this was amazing. The day before Earth day Immagins teacher had told everyone that they were going to hug trees on earth day. I guess Immagin really felt passionate about NOT doing it! Here's what She wrote,

My Life

Me and My Family and Me are not tree huggers. We don't worship the earth like it's a God, because We worship One and Only God. Verse John 1:1 In the Beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

Think about it Thursdays!

This same time last year I was pregnant with Stellar.... time has gone by SO fast! Seriously it seems like just a few weeks ago He was born:( I remember when I was little it seemed like time went so slowly. Now that I'm older time flys!  Time on Earth is precious. I love the Little blessings God has given Jeff and I.

For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanishes away (James 4:14).

Laundry is never ending!

This is what I will be doing today. The story of my Life:) Any tips on how to keep this under control?

It was a cold day in Phoenix!

Not much happened today. It was soooo cold out and windy. We went to the zoo. BTW the phoenix zoo kids meal cups are free refills all year long!!! Just found that out.
Saylor's friend Clarissa stayed the night and we went to the park. Stellar loves it!

Saylor goes fishing!

We made these"fish" on one side they have a letter. When she catches it I ask her what letter it is and what sound it makes. I'm going to introduce 4 letters a week and rotate until she knows all Her letters and sounds. She already knows about 10 letters and sounds. This was very easy to make:)

Exploding Milk Colors

This is a really fun activity for Little kids. I suggest only using squeeze liquid dyes not gels.

  1. Get a plate
  2. put milk on it enough to cover the whole bottom
  3. squeeze your dye in drop form all around plate(careful not to smear or move the dye)
  4. take a q-tip and dip it in dish soap
  5. touch your dye with the q-tip and watch the colors "explode"
  6. Your kids will love this:)

Butter Ya'll !!!!

I saw this a few weeks ago and really wanted to try it. It is so easy and really fun for the kids. At first my 9 year old did NOT want to do this until He started seeing the cream change into butter and then He was amazed!

Shake your way to fresh butter and buttermilk.
Prep Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

Heavy cream
A Jar with a lid ( we used baby food jars, it was perfect for lil hands)
Preparation:

1. Fill a jar halfway with heavy cream and screw the lid on tight.

2. Shake the jar up and down until the cream thickens and begins to stick together.

3. Then, open the jar, and pour any remaining liquid into another container; this is the buttermilk. Everything else is butter.

4. Knead the butter under cold running water for several minutes to work out any remaining buttermilk (otherwise the butter will spoil quickly).

5. Knead in salt, if desired.

6. Refrigerate.

Homemade Organic Peanut Butter Granola Bars

If your kids are like mine, they go through alot of granola bars. I decided to find a good granola bar recipe, and that's exactly what I did! These are amazing. You don't have to make them organic, but it is so much better:) Also this recipe could be easily messed with to make lots of yummy combos.

Peanut Butter Granola Bars

Ingredients:

2 cups granola ( I used archers farm vanilla organic granola)
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup honey
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:

In a bowl, mix together the honey and peanut butter until smooth. Add the granola and mix until well coated. Pat into a 8X8 greased pan and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Place in a 350 degrees for 2-3 minutes or until chocolate is melted. Smooth out chocolate over the top of the granola. Chill until set. Cut into squares

Quick, easy and wonderful.

Jello Play Dough

Watermelon Glitter Jell-O Playdough
Ingredients:
1 (3-oz.) package watermelon or any flavor jello
2 cups flour
2 cups boiling water
1 cup salt
4 TBS cream of tartar
2 TBS oil
Directions:
Mix the dry ingredients in a saucepan then add the oil and the boiling water. Stir continuously over medium heat until dough forms into a ball. Remove from heat, knead. Store in an airtight container.
Tips:
If playdough is too sticky, just knead in more flour.
Always store in an airtight container or plastic bag.
Refrigerate until needed, unless noted otherwise.
